CELI Announces New Advisory Council to Support the Future of Clean Energy Leadership

The Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) is proud to announce the formation of its new Advisory Council, a group of nationally respected leaders who will help guide and strengthen CELI’s work to develop the next generation of clean energy leaders. The inaugural Advisory Council includes Chandra Farley, Richard Kauffman, Nancy Pfund, and Jigar Shah— each bringing deep experience across clean energy finance, sustainability, public policy, investment, entrepreneurship, environmental justice, and systems change.

Collectively and individually, they will serve as ambassadors and advisors to support CELI’s vital work to help prepare and support the next generation of young U.S. clean energy professionals and leaders. We are very grateful to each of them, and excited to have them on board.

The creation of the Advisory Council comes at an important moment for CELI and for the broader clean energy transition. As the sector continues to evolve, CELI remains focused on equipping early- and mid-career professionals with the knowledge, leadership skills, networks, and energy justice grounding needed to drive meaningful change across industries and communities. The Advisory Council will provide strategic perspective to CELI as CELI continues to grow its Fellowship, expand its national community, and strengthen pathways for leadership development across the clean energy ecosystem.

The Council’s inaugural members reflect the breadth of expertise required to advance an equitable, decarbonized, and resilient energy future. Chandra Farley, Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of Atlanta, brings deep leadership in environmental justice, resilience, energy burden reduction, green workforce development, and equitable clean energy planning.Richard Kauffman, CEO of the Coalition for Green Capital, brings decades of leadership experience in clean energy finance, utility reform, public-private investment, and regulatory modernization. Jigar Shah, Co-Managing Partner of Multiplier, founder of Sun Edison, and former Director of the U.S. Department of Energy Loan Programs Office, brings a practical, execution-focused perspective on scaling clean energy infrastructure and finance. Nancy Pfund, Founder and Managing Partner of DBL Partners, is a trailblazer in impact investing whose work has helped shape the clean energy and sustainability sectors.

CELI welcomes this extraordinary group of leaders into closer partnership with us. With their guidance, CELI will continue investing in the people and communities needed to lead the clean energy transition — building the capacity, relationships, and shared purpose that our collective future depends on.
