ABOUT THE CLEAN ENERGY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
The Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) is building a community of changemakers working across clean energy sectors and disciplines to lead a decarbonized, resilient and equitable energy economy.
Through CELI’s Fellowship for working professionals, CELI brings together many players in the clean energy ecosystem to take collective action toward our values.
Since 2013, in partnership with our champions, CELI has trained over 1,800 emerging leaders across 900+ companies and organizations and has provided energy education to more than 6,250 professionals across the U.S. through our community programming.
We equip emerging leaders with energy systems expertise, an adaptive leadership approach, an understanding of energy justice principles and a community of practice to drive the transition to a clean energy economy.

ABOUT CELI’S FELLOWSHIP
CELI hosts eight fellowships each year, including four in-person, city-based cohorts in the Bay Area, Chicago, Washington DC, and New York City, and four all-virtual cohorts across time zones PT, CT/MT, and ET. CELI selects 25–35 individuals per cohort, serving ~230 fellows per year.
The CELI Fellowship is a four month program for full-time, working professionals who exhibit strong leadership potential in the clean energy and climate sectors. Weekly evening sessions take Fellows through the fundamentals of energy markets, clean energy technologies and grid modernization, policy, finance, deep decarbonization and social adaptation. Fellows also participate in skill-building workshops and explore the practice of adaptive leadership.
The curriculum challenges Fellows to:
Think critically about current energy policy and market structures
Examine existing and historical inequities
Identify barriers to clean energy deployment and innovation
Recognize leadership moments and know what to do when stepping into one
Develop holistic solutions toward an equitable energy transition
Build the relationships necessary to scale solutions
Sessions are taught by senior experts across the industry and academia who provide real-world insights into the dynamic clean energy landscape. CELI Fellows gain unparalleled access to interact with thought leaders each week, developing strong professional connections and unlocking career mentorship opportunities.
