Join E2, CELI, Greenlight America, and Midwest Sustainability Network for a timely conversation on how local leaders are driving climate and clean energy progress. 

Despite uncertainty, together we're finding smart ways to advocate for policies and projects that are good for the economy and good for the environment. This event will highlight how businesses and communities are advancing solutions on the ground by moving clean energy projects forward, building local momentum, and working in collaboration with public officials.

About the Speakers:

  • Doug Scott was appointed Chair of the Illinois Commerce Commission by Governor J.B. Pritzker on June 17, 2023. This is Scott’s second stint as Chair, having served in the position from 2011-2015. Between engagements with the ICC, Scott was Vice President of the Great Plains Institute, where he worked on decarbonization efforts with States, utilities and other interested parties. Prior to his work at the ICC, Scott served in a variety of public sector positions, including Director of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Mayor of the City of Rockford, State Representative and City Attorney for Rockford. A native of Rockford, Scott received his Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Tulsa, and a Juris Doctorate with honors from Marquette University.

  • Janice D’Arco is Executive Director of Green Economy Banking – Climate Tech at JPMorgan, where she leads national efforts to provide financial and advisory solutions to clean tech innovators across sectors like renewable energy, AgTech, and circular economy. With over two decades of experience in commercial and investment banking, she specializes in supporting early- to late-stage companies with venture debt, project finance, and Department of Energy loan advisory. Her team plays a critical role in helping climate tech companies scale solutions that transition legacy industries into a more sustainable future. Janice holds an MBA and MS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.

  • Miranda Ehrlich is the Senior Director of Campaigns at Greenlight America, a nonprofit dedicated to mobilizing grassroots support for large-scale clean energy projects nationwide, including Illinois. She was previously the Federal Field Director for the Sierra Club, where she led the Sierra Club’s field program to pass the Inflation Reduction Act. Miranda began her career in Wisconsin as a community organizer and received a Master's in Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

  • Bob Keefe is E2’s executive director, overseeing all aspects of E2’s work and its staff and chapters stretching from New York to San Diego. Bob speaks regularly about the clean energy economy and the economic benefits of smart environmental policies. He has testified before Congress and numerous state legislatures and has appeared in media outlets including the New York Times, Washington Post, Fox, CNN and others. Bob is the author of two books on the economics of climate change: “ Climatenomics: Washington Wall Street and the Economic Battle to Save Our Planet” (2022) and “ Clean Economy NOW: Stories from the Frontlines of an American Business Revolution” (2024) and co-author of several other business-related books. Prior to joining E2 in 2011, Bob spent more than 20 years as a journalist, covering business, political, national and environmental news from coast to coast.
